Junior/Middle Java Software Engineer (Backend): Building and optimizing backend services, APIs, microservices, and data-processing workflows for a scalable cloud-based data platform with near-real-time reporting capabilities with an accent on Java, distributed systems, and platform reliability. Focus on designing scalable services, tuning performance, implementing automated tests, and supporting containerized CI/CD deployments.

What you will do
- Design, develop, and maintain Java backend services, RESTful APIs, and microservices.
- Build and enhance data-processing workflows supporting near-real-time reporting for healthcare operations.
- Own backend components and improve their performance, scalability, stability, and maintainability.
- Collaborate with engineers, architects, QA specialists, and business stakeholders on reliable solutions.
- Participate in architecture discussions, technical evaluations, code reviews, sprint planning, and task estimation.
- Debug, troubleshoot, optimize, test, and deploy services through CI/CD and containerized environments.
Requirements
- Strong commercial experience with Java development and clean, maintainable code.
- Knowledge of backend development principles, object-oriented programming, design patterns, and software engineering practices.
- Experience with Java frameworks, preferably Spring or Spring Boot.
- Hands-on experience designing RESTful APIs, backend services, microservices, and distributed systems.
- Knowledge of cloud platforms, preferably AWS, plus Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD pipelines, debugging, optimization, and automated testing.
- Strong English communication skills and availability to work from Ukraine in a remote or office format.
Nice to have
- Experience with Go, TypeScript, JavaScript, or React.
- Understanding of security and compliance standards, including HIPAA and data protection regulations.
