TL;DR
Content and Social Media Officer (Humanitarian Communications): Developing field-based stories, social media content, and communications materials for the IRC’s response to the war in Ukraine with an accent on digital engagement, impact storytelling, and donor visibility. Focus on managing and growing local social media channels, coordinating content trips, supporting media visits, and producing content in challenging environments.
Location: Kyiv, Ukraine, with frequent travel to Kharkiv, Dnipro, Mykolaiv, and other locations in Ukraine. Full-time office work is required, with hybrid work possible after the probation period. Travel may take up to 50% of working time.

What you will do
- Support country and global communications for the IRC’s response to the war in Ukraine.
- Manage and grow IRC Ukraine social media channels, including content planning, audience engagement, and performance tracking.
- Produce reports, articles, social media posts, photo and video materials for local and international audiences.
- Develop impact stories and case studies with program and field teams, including content collected in challenging environments.
- Coordinate content trips within Ukraine and support local and international media visits to program activities.
- Ensure digital content meets donor branding, visibility, messaging, and reporting requirements.
Requirements
- At least 2 years of experience in communications for an international NGO.
- Experience capturing and curating impactful content in challenging environments.
- Knowledge of storytelling, social media platforms, communications channels, and strategic content planning.
- Knowledge of video and photo editing tools, including Adobe Premiere Pro and Adobe After Effects.
- Ability to work independently and cross-functionally in a fast-paced, multicultural environment and under crisis-related time pressure.
- Fluent Ukrainian and English, both oral and written, are required.
