TL;DR
iOS Developer (Video Streaming) (Swift/iOS/tvOS): Building and improving video playback experiences across Viaplay’s iOS and tvOS applications with an accent on player functionality, performance, stability, and reliability. Focus on investigating complex playback issues, integrating data insights, and developing maintainable Apple-platform architecture.
Location: Stockholm, Sweden; hybrid model with at least three days per week in the office

What you will do
- Build and improve playback experiences across iOS and tvOS applications.
- Work hands-on with video players and player-related functionality.
- Improve playback quality, performance, stability, and reliability across Apple devices.
- Investigate player issues and use data insights to identify improvement opportunities.
- Collaborate with engineers across platforms, product managers, designers, and other teams.
- Contribute through testing, code reviews, architecture improvements, and knowledge sharing in the iOS guild.
Requirements
- Several years of experience in iOS development.
- Hands-on experience with video players or video playback.
- Strong Swift skills and experience with UIKit and SwiftUI.
- Solid understanding of iOS architecture, frameworks, and best practices.
- Experience with API integrations, networking, data storage, unit testing, and code reviews.
- Interest in performance, reliability, complex technical problem-solving, and AI-assisted software development tools.
Nice to have
- Experience with AVPlayer or other Apple media frameworks, Objective-C, and tvOS.
- Experience with streaming technologies and playback-related challenges.
- Familiarity with Swift Concurrency, Combine, observability, performance monitoring, or analytics.
- Experience with CI, GitHub Actions, or Fastlane.
