TL;DR
Data Architect (Big Data): Architecting and implementing scalable data pipelines, data platforms, and data warehouses on GCP with an accent on customer requirements, cloud data platforms, and hands-on software development. Focus on defining data platform roadmaps, building batch and streaming solutions, guiding engineering teams, and delivering client-facing technical workshops.
Location: Budapest, Hungary, with onsite customer presence in Germany approximately 3 days per month. The role otherwise operates in a remote but collaborative environment.

What you will do
- Lead workshops with business users to gather requirements and understand reporting and data usage needs.
- Define client data platform roadmaps and collaborate with engineering teams to build delivery backlogs.
- Architect and implement data pipelines, data platforms, and data warehouses on GCP.
- Demonstrate completed solutions and act as a technical consultant and trainer for client technology teams.
- Provide technical leadership, mentorship, stakeholder management, and conflict resolution throughout delivery.
- Take responsibility for the end-to-end development lifecycle and introduce relevant engineering practices.
Requirements
- At least 6 years of hands-on coding experience as a data architect, using Java or Python and SQL.
- Experience with modern public cloud data platforms such as GCP, AWS, or Azure.
- Knowledge of data warehousing, pipeline orchestration, streaming and batch processing, and BI or transformation tools.
- Strong English and German communication skills are mandatory for client-facing work.
- Experience in an IT services or consultancy company, or in another external client-facing role.
- Up-to-date hands-on experience using agentic AI tools to build software solutions, along with technical leadership skills.
Nice to have
- Experience guiding data teams in agile practices.
- Experience with BigQuery, Redshift, Snowflake, Airflow, dbt, Looker, or Tableau.
