TL;DR
Java Support Engineer (OpenJDK): Diagnosing, debugging, and resolving customer issues in the Java Runtime with an accent on production stability, root-cause analysis, and validated fixes or workarounds. Focus on implementing and deploying code-level fixes, testing solutions, and collaborating with OpenJDK engineering teams to resolve complex JDK problems.
Location: Almaty, Kazakhstan; onsite or remote

BellSoft is a global software company contributing to OpenJDK and developing a widely used Java Runtime for enterprise customers and technology partners.
What you will do
- Respond to customer issues according to established SLAs.
- Communicate with customers through bug-tracking systems, email, phone, and videoconferencing.
- Diagnose issues and identify their root causes across different parts of the JDK.
- Work with OpenJDK engineers to resolve production and development challenges.
- Develop, test, implement, and deploy fixes or validated workarounds.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or an equivalent qualification.
- At least 1 year of Java development experience, preferably with enterprise applications.
- Relevant experience as a Java developer, QA Engineer, Sustaining Engineer, or UI Developer.
- Experience with Core Java API, graphics technologies such as AWT, Swing, or JavaFX, or networking.
- Experience with Git or Mercurial and basic Linux and Bash skills.
- Intermediate English or higher.
Nice to have
- Oracle Java SE certification.
