TL;DR
Forward Deployed Infrastructure Engineer (AI): Owning the end-to-end lifecycle of enterprise customer deployments for Sierra’s AI platform with an accent on deployment architecture, cloud networking, security, compliance, and operational reliability. Focus on designing customer-specific infrastructure, building repeatable automation and runbooks, and managing upgrades, scaling, rollbacks, and incident response across AWS environments.
Location: London, United Kingdom; on-site
Salary: £190K–£285K annually, plus equity

What you will do
- Own deployment architecture discussions and execution across enterprise customer environments, including VPC configuration, permissions, networking, and infrastructure provisioning.
- Manage the full infrastructure lifecycle for critical customers, from initial deployment through upgrades, scaling, and incident support.
- Develop deployment runbooks, upgrade procedures, automation tooling, and repeatable operational processes.
- Partner with Engineering and Product to ensure the AI platform can be deployed and operated across diverse customer requirements.
- Work with customer platform engineering, security, and DevOps teams on infrastructure constraints, security reviews, compliance, and change management.
- Collaborate with Sales and Customer Success to scope infrastructure requirements and create deployment plans.
Requirements
- Professional fluency in both Spanish and English.
- 4+ years of experience in infrastructure, DevOps, platform engineering, or solutions architecture, including significant customer-facing deployment work.
- Deep experience with AWS, Terraform, container orchestration, and cloud networking, including VPCs, IAM, DNS, and load balancing.
- Experience managing deployments in customer-owned cloud environments and handling security, compliance, and change management requirements.
- Strong operational judgment covering upgrades, rollbacks, monitoring, and failure modes.
- Degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
Nice to have
- Production experience with Go services, GraphQL APIs, or LLM infrastructure.
- Experience at an early-stage company building deployment operations, playbooks, and tooling.
- Familiarity with observability and incident management tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, or Datadog.
- Experience designing CI/CD pipelines, deployment automation, or infrastructure self-service tooling for enterprise customers.
