Location: Fully remote; can be performed from anywhere. Occasional domestic and international travel of approximately 0%β15% is expected.

What you will do
- Design, develop, and maintain bioinformatics pipelines for WGS, WES, bulk and single-cell transcriptomics, spatial transcriptomics, and epigenomics.
- Analyze biological datasets and prepare interpretation reports for comparability studies, AAV characterization, and potency cell line characterization.
- Develop bioinformatics platforms for biomarker discovery, disease-mechanism research, patient stratification, and therapeutic-response analysis.
- Apply statistical rigor to experimental design and result interpretation, including Bayesian approaches.
- Present findings to technical and non-technical stakeholders and contribute to publications, regulatory submissions, and internal reports.
- Lead projects independently, mentor associate scientists, and support pipeline qualification and validation.
Requirements
- PhD with 5+ years of industry experience, Masterβs with 6 years, or Bachelorβs with 8 years of industry experience.
- Experience analyzing NGS data, including PacBio and Element Biosciences platforms.
- Strong understanding of statistics, including Bayesian methods, across multiple data types.
- Production-quality programming experience with Python, R, JavaScript, Go, or Rust, including collaborative Git-based development.
- Experience with Python testing frameworks, cloud environments such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud, and Docker.
- Experience with workflow management systems such as Snakemake, Nextflow, or CWL.
Nice to have
- Degree in bioinformatics, computational biology, genomics, molecular biology, or a related field.
- Experience releasing software for use by others and working with SQL databases.
- Familiarity with machine learning algorithms and single-cell or spatial sequencing tools such as Seurat or Scanpy.
- Knowledge of FDA or EMA regulatory requirements, FAIR data principles, bioinformatics standards, GAMP5, or risk-based software validation.
