Platform Engineer

TL;DR

Platform Engineer (DevOps): Help run and improve the Internal Developer Platform (IDP) and related tooling so product teams can develop and deliver code fast, safely, and on their own, with an accent on keeping core tools online, well configured, and updated. Focus on implementing automation and integrations between assigned software and other tools and creating self-service pipelines in Kubernetes.

Location: Onsite in one of hirify.global's European offices (Belgrade, Lisbon, Sofia, Valencia, or Warsaw). Relocation package and visa support are provided.

What you will do

• Maintain and improve the Internal Developer Platform (IDP) and core tools like Sonarqube, Nexus, and Unleash.
• Implement automation and integrations between software and tools such as Okta, GitLab, ArgoCD, Jira, and Slack.
• Create and maintain pipelines and scripts to automate build, test, and release processes.
• Add self-service pipelines and safe rollout methods (canary, blue-green) in Kubernetes.
• Monitor logs, metrics, and alerts to troubleshoot or prevent platform-related incidents.
• Collaborate with product development and infrastructure teams to streamline their daily workflows.

Requirements

• 3+ years working with Kubernetes in AWS or another cloud environment.
• Hands-on experience with GitLab CI pipelines and Argo CD, including multi-project, multi-environment, complex, and robust pipelines.
• Understanding of development and release flows, branching models, and Git/GitHub/GitLab flows.
• Basic knowledge of monitoring tools like Prometheus and Grafana, along with business and technical metrics.
• Understanding of secrets and identity tools such as Vault and Okta.
• English: Upper-intermediate (B2) spoken and written level required.

Nice to have

• Good skills in Python, Bash, JavaScript, and Golang.
