Location: São Paulo, Brazil; role based within the São Paulo engineering hub.

What you will do
- Lead, hire, coach, and grow a high-performing team of data engineers.
- Drive the technical and strategic vision for data engineering pods and foundational platforms.
- Guide the development of enterprise-scale data architecture and reliable data solutions.
- Improve data architecture and development processes through continuous improvement.
- Build reusable data assets and components that support current and future scale and interoperability.
- Collaborate with stakeholders, external partners, data scientists, and peer data leaders.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s, master’s, or PhD in Computer Science or equivalent.
- 10+ years of experience in data engineering, data platforms, or a related domain.
- 2+ years of hands-on engineering management experience.
- Experience hiring, managing performance, coaching, mentoring, and growing teams in a fast-moving environment.
- Experience with Python or Kotlin, SQL, Snowflake, Databricks, Spark, Trino, or Pinot.
- Experience with AWS, large-scale batch or real-time ETL orchestration, Airflow, Kafka, Spark Streaming, data lake formats, and system design; strong understanding of AI solutions in data is required.
Nice to have
- Experience building systems that directly power online applications.
- Exposure to CockroachDB, Cassandra, PostgreSQL, Delta Lake, Apache Iceberg, Glue Catalog, or S3.
