Solar Technician II (Solar PV)

Location: Onsite at Armadillo Solar near Corsicana, Texas; daily commuting to the site is required.

What you will do

• Perform assigned operations and maintenance activities for utility-scale solar PV sites and substations.
• Carry out preventive, corrective, and emergency maintenance on SMA inverters, Nextracker XTR systems, and high-, medium-, and low-voltage equipment.
• Prepare and implement switching and clearance orders.
• Perform technical and administrative duties related to operating and maintaining the power facility.
• Work independently or as part of field crews and help build, train, and lead other field personnel.
• Ensure all work complies with environmental, safety, and operational requirements.

Requirements

• Three or more years of experience as a PV O&M solar technician, or five or more years in a power plant with at least one year in PV solar O&M or construction.
• Knowledge of electrical or mechanical fundamentals, including electrical measurements, control circuits, and solid-state theory.
• Basic knowledge of power-facility equipment and associated control devices.
• Experience with electrical or construction projects, highly technical equipment, engineering, and basic IT equipment.
• Ability to read, write, and understand English.
• Ability to work outdoors, at heights, around energized equipment and hazardous materials, and during overtime or non-standard hours when required.
