Associate Director, Manufacturing DSP (Biologics)

Location: Fully site-based in Visp, Switzerland. Relocation assistance is available for eligible candidates and their families.

What you will do

• Lead and develop a multidisciplinary team of process engineers, specialists, and manufacturing professionals.
• Own operational performance, production readiness, execution, and on-time delivery within downstream processing manufacturing.
• Resolve complex manufacturing issues with MSAT, Production Support, QA, and Upstream Processing teams.
• Lead risk assessments, workplace inspections, technical change management, and compliance activities.
• Represent the DSP organization in customer interactions, audits, and regulatory inspections.
• Contribute to facility design, equipment implementation, startup, commissioning, and operational excellence initiatives.

Requirements

• Experience leading teams and operations in a GMP-regulated biopharmaceutical manufacturing environment.
• Strong expertise in downstream processing and biologics manufacturing, including mammalian cell culture processes.
• Proven ability to build, coach, and engage high-performing technical teams.
• Strong problem-solving, decision-making, cross-functional collaboration, and communication skills.
• Degree in Biotechnology, Bioengineering, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, or a related scientific discipline, or equivalent relevant experience.
• Strong English communication skills are required.
