Agile Scrum Master

TL;DR

Agile Scrum Master (Agile/Scrum): Facilitating delivery for the Index Technology team with an accent on sprint planning, backlog coordination, blocker removal, and transparent progress tracking. Focus on improving cross-functional team performance, resolving delivery risks, and embedding Scrum practices across software development projects.

Location: Toronto, Canada; hybrid work with at least 3 days per week in the office.

Base salary: $91,000–$129,000 per year, plus annual bonus or commission, equity, and benefits.

What you will do

• Facilitate daily stand-ups, sprint planning, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.
• Support Product Owners with backlog management and alignment on product goals and scope.
• Identify and remove blockers affecting team progress.
• Promote Scrum practices and adherence to Agile principles.
• Track delivery progress and team performance through relevant metrics.
• Communicate project status, risks, and issues to stakeholders while driving continuous improvement.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• At least 3 years of experience as a Scrum Master or in a similar Agile leadership role.
• Strong knowledge of Agile and Scrum principles, software development processes, and cloud technologies.
• Experience facilitating and collaborating across cross-functional, matrixed teams.
• Strong problem-solving, conflict-resolution, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency with Jira or similar Agile project management tools.

Nice to have

• Scrum Master certification such as CSM or PSM.
• Experience leading projects in financial data or capital markets.
