What you will do
- Take technical responsibility across programme projects and identify technologies, innovation opportunities, and future development paths.
- Guide system engineers and project managers on complex technical matters and coordinate engineering resources.
- Identify technical risks, implement solutions, and monitor schedules, budgets, quality, and project progress.
- Lead smaller projects and technical studies while mentoring engineers and coordinating knowledge transfer.
- Improve engineering workflows, support strategic programme development, and identify new business opportunities.
- Lead technical bid preparation, define statements of work, and represent the programme in customer meetings and industry events.
Requirements
- Masterβs degree, Diploma, PhD, or equivalent qualification in engineering, physics, or a related field.
- At least 10 years of relevant professional experience and proven technical leadership in space projects.
- Strong expertise across ground systems, mission analysis, antennas, system design and analysis, interface engineering, requirements engineering, and validation or verification.
- Commercial understanding of schedules, budgets, quality, and controlling, with the ability to balance cost, quality, and time.
- Experience leading larger technical project teams, with strong communication, collaboration, conflict resolution, and customer-focused skills.
- Very good German and English language skills required.
