Java Backend QA Engineer (Capital Market)

Location: Hong Kong; remote work

What you will do

• Own product quality across backend correctness, reliability, usability, and the overall user experience.
• Design and execute functional, integration, regression, and end-to-end test plans for distributed backend services.
• Validate real-time data flows, messaging, caching, and data integrity across WebSocket, Kafka, Redis, and database systems.
• Collaborate with product, development, and design teams to clarify requirements and refine acceptance criteria.
• Document, track, reproduce, and diagnose defects through resolution.
• Improve testing processes, tooling, automation, and quality practices.

Requirements

• 2+ years of software testing experience in Traditional Finance or financial and trading-related systems.
• Hands-on backend testing experience with Spring Boot, WebSocket, Redis, Kafka, and databases.
• SQL skills for verifying data integrity.
• Experience with API and network testing tools such as Postman or Charles Proxy.
• Strong communication, attention to detail, self-motivation, and the ability to manage multiple priorities.

Nice to have

• Java development experience, including reading code and contributing to automation frameworks or test tooling.
• Test automation frameworks and CI/CD pipeline experience.
• Performance and load testing experience.
• AI coding assistants or LLM-based testing tools.
• Fluency in English for an international, English-speaking environment.
