Lead Software Engineer (Libra - Legal AI Assistant) (m/f/d) (Python/TypeScript/AI): Building a full-stack legal AI platform that combines legal reasoning with generative technology, with an accent on scalable backend APIs, frontend interfaces, and intelligent product capabilities. Focus on designing cross-stack features, integrating AI tools and agents, and solving complex challenges in security, architecture, and high-performing user experiences.
Location: Hybrid in Berlin, Germany, with at least eight office days per month; remote work within the EU is available for up to 20 days per twelve-month period.

's Legal & Regulatory Division develops Libra, a legal AI platform for law firms, corporate legal departments, and publishers.
What you will do
- Design, implement, and maintain product features across backend APIs and frontend interfaces.
- Collaborate with product and design teams to deliver intuitive, high-performing user experiences.
- Ensure code quality, security, scalability, and maintainability through sound engineering practices.
- Contribute to technical decisions, architecture, and the engineering culture.
- Explore and integrate AI tools and agents to improve developer productivity and product capabilities.
Requirements
- At least 8 years of relevant product software engineering experience.
- Strong Python experience, particularly with FastAPI and asynchronous programming.
- Solid TypeScript proficiency.
- Familiarity with software engineering best practices and security principles.
- Experience with AI coding agents such as Cursor or Claude Code.
- Excellent English communication skills required; German is a plus.
Nice to have
- Experience with Svelte.
- Experience building or contributing to LLM-powered products.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related discipline.
