Lead Software Engineer (Libra - Legal AI Assistant) (m/f/d)

Location: Berlin, Germany; hybrid work with at least eight days per month in the office. Remote work from anywhere within the EU is available for up to 20 days during a twelve-month period.

hirify.global’s Legal & Regulatory division is building Libra, an AI platform that supports legal research, drafting, and other legal work for lawyers and compliance professionals.

What you will do

• Design, implement, and maintain product features across backend APIs and frontend interfaces.
• Collaborate with product and design teams to deliver intuitive, high-performing user experiences.
• Ensure code quality, security, scalability, and maintainability through sound engineering practices.
• Contribute to technical decisions and help shape the engineering culture.
• Explore and integrate AI tools and agents to improve developer productivity and product capabilities.

Requirements

• At least 8 years of relevant product software engineering experience.
• Strong Python experience, particularly with FastAPI and asynchronous programming.
• Solid TypeScript proficiency.
• Knowledge of software engineering best practices and security principles.
• Experience with AI coding agents such as Cursor or Claude Code.
• Excellent English communication skills; a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a similar discipline is preferred.

Nice to have

• Experience with Svelte.
• Experience building or contributing to LLM-powered products.
• German language skills.
