Senior Ceph/Rook-Ceph + Kubernetes Storage Engineer

Location: Remote from Ukraine, Poland, Armenia, or Romania

What you will do

• Build, operate, upgrade, and troubleshoot production Ceph clusters, including OSD, MON, MGR, placement groups, recovery, and backfill.
• Operate Rook-Ceph storage in Kubernetes and maintain CSI and storage integrations.
• Plan capacity, tune performance, scale infrastructure, and maintain high availability.
• Investigate storage latency, disk failures, network bottlenecks, and recovery incidents.
• Manage Linux systems and infrastructure at the operating-system and hardware levels.
• Automate operations with Ansible and Kubernetes tooling such as Helm, while maintaining Prometheus and Grafana observability.

Requirements

• Remote work must be based in Ukraine, Poland, Armenia, or Romania.
• At least 5 years of experience in DevOps, SRE, infrastructure, or storage engineering.
• Deep hands-on production experience with Ceph, including OSD, MON, MGR, placement groups, recovery, backfill, capacity planning, performance tuning, scaling, and high availability.
• Production experience with Rook-Ceph on Kubernetes and strong knowledge of Kubernetes storage and CSI integration.
• Strong Linux administration and troubleshooting skills at the operating-system and hardware levels.
• Experience with Ansible, Helm, Prometheus, and Grafana, plus good English communication skills.

Nice to have

• OpenStack and Ceph integration with Cinder, Glance, Nova, and RBD.
• Petabyte-scale Ceph environments, bare-metal infrastructure, or large production Rook-Ceph clusters.
• CephFS and RGW/S3 experience.
• Customer-facing troubleshooting or technical support experience.
