Manual QA Engineer Backend

Location: Manila, Philippines, remote preferred in time zones GMT+4 to GMT+8

What you will do

• Perform manual testing of REST-based microservice architecture, focusing on card-related features
• Conduct regression testing during releases and infrastructure migrations
• Write test cases, checklists, and document test results
• Collaborate with developers, product managers, and analysts based on test outcomes
• Collect and analyze QA metrics
• Opportunity to grow into automation testing (AQA) for card and payment flows

Requirements

• Confident use of Postman or similar tools
• Basic ability to read code (Java, JavaScript, Kotlin)
• Experience with PostgreSQL and Kafka
• Understanding of core card processing concepts: authorization, hold, chargeback

Nice to have

• Experience testing financial products (cards, payments, transaction systems)
• Experience with load or automated testing
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines (GitLab) and reporting tools like Allure
