Senior Storage Administrator – IBM TSM/Storage Protect (Backup & Recovery)

Location: Lisbon, Portugal; hybrid work with up to 2 remote days per week. Candidates must already have the legal right to work in Europe.

What you will do

• Administer 10 IBM TSM/Storage Protect servers across a three-site environment, maintaining availability and performance.
• Operate backup, archive, retention, restore, and recovery procedures and validate end-to-end data integrity.
• Manage storage pools, IBM tape libraries, and tape-based backup operations.
• Troubleshoot complex backup and recovery incidents and coordinate with Network, Wintel, Security, and DBA teams.
• Maintain AZQORE documentation, improve operational procedures, and provide process training to business owners.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of experience in storage administration, backup, and recovery.
• Expert knowledge of IBM Storage Protect, formerly TSM, on AIX and Linux; Storage Protect version above 8.
• Advanced TSM administration experience, including backup operations, recovery procedures, storage pools, and retention policies.
• Experience with TSM DB2 operations, DB2, RMAN, TDP, and SQL scripting.
• Hands-on knowledge of IBM tape libraries and tape management.
• Working scripting knowledge in bash, ksh, Python, or Perl.

Nice to have

• Storage Protect for VE and VMware experience.
• Knowledge of S3 and NDMP backup protocols.
• ITIL knowledge and experience with DELL, IBM, Hitachi storage, or IBM Power systems.
