TL;DR
VP, People & Culture (Manufacturing): Leading the people function for a next-generation battery materials company with an accent on talent strategy, organizational effectiveness, and scalable HR operations. Focus on building the HR team, strengthening frontline management, completing plant staffing, and developing people programs that support manufacturing growth.

Location: Onsite in Alameda, California, United States; typical working hours are Monday-Friday, 9am-6pm.

Salary: $290,440-$350,000 annual base pay, plus potential benefits, perks, and equity.

What you will do

  • Advise the executive leadership team on organizational design, workforce planning, rewards, talent development, and strategic business initiatives.
  • Build and execute a strategic and operational HR strategy aligned with company growth and business performance.
  • Lead talent acquisition, assessment, training, performance management, succession planning, engagement, and organizational development.
  • Complete staffing for the Moses Lake plant and establish aligned policies, processes, and cultural norms.
  • Build the HR team, develop leaders, and improve frontline management through training and upskilling.
  • Establish effective total rewards, employee relations, compliance, HR systems, diversity and inclusion, and other core HR operations.

Requirements

  • At least 15 years of broad human resources leadership experience, including more than 5 years as a coach, trusted advisor, and strategic partner to senior executives.
  • Experience operationalizing strategy and providing business insights beyond HR.
  • Experience scaling people programs in agile, entrepreneurial organizations with a pragmatic, hands-on approach.
  • Background in organizations of scale and manufacturing operations, including experience navigating comparable workforce and labor environments.
  • Demonstrated success leading organizational change, improving processes, and applying data-driven continuous improvement.
  • Strong collaboration, influencing, communication, relationship-building, and leadership capabilities.

Nice to have

  • Pre-IPO or IPO-readiness experience.
  • Experience with dynamic human resources and talent practices.
  • Familiarity with technology or advanced materials sectors.
