SQL & Application Support Specialist (Financial Services)

Location: Porto, Portugal, with a hybrid work model. Candidates must have an existing legal right to work in the European Union.

What you will do

• Handle, investigate, and resolve Tier 2 and Tier 3 application support tickets.
• Write and execute SQL queries with filters and complex joins to investigate data issues and validate application behavior.
• Perform targeted database corrections and updates using simple scripts or queries.
• Explain technical root causes and solutions to French-speaking clients by email and phone.
• Collaborate with developers to escalate well-documented defects requiring code changes.
• Document troubleshooting procedures and solutions in internal knowledge bases.

Requirements

• Over 6 years of experience in IT technical support, application support, or data-oriented customer support.
• Strong SQL skills, including data retrieval, filtering, joins, and basic database investigations.
• French at minimum B2 level, fluent in written and spoken communication.
• Professional proficiency in English, both written and spoken.
• Experience working in a hybrid environment and communicating technical information clearly.
• Existing legal right to work in the European Union.

Nice to have

• Basic knowledge of database administration, triggers, or stored procedures.
• Customer support experience in the financial or banking sector.
