Principal Applied AI/ML Scientist (Auth0 Lab)

Location: Toronto, Ontario, Canada; hybrid work with attendance at the local office three times per week

Salary: CAD 216,000–297,000 annual base salary, plus equity where applicable, bonus, and benefits.

What you will do

• Model and solve authentication and security problems using AI and machine learning.
• Lead end-to-end model development, including traditional machine learning training and fine-tuning or alignment of language models.
• Create and maintain evaluation and training datasets, workflows, and supporting infrastructure.
• Move ideas from research through prototypes to product recommendations.
• Evaluate model outcomes across quality, security, latency, and cost.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience in machine learning or applied research roles.
• Experience leading multiple 0-to-1 AI or machine learning projects and shipping practical systems.
• Strong Python, machine learning frameworks, and software engineering skills.
• Ability to learn quickly, understand computer systems, and solve complex technical problems.
• Strong customer understanding, communication, teamwork, and collaboration skills.
• Ability to work from the Toronto office three days per week in a hybrid arrangement.

Nice to have

• Experience working on security-related products.
• PhD in a relevant field.
• Experience publishing papers or open-sourcing research results.
