TL;DR
Sr. Director, Internal Communications (Strategic Communications): Developing and executing internal and external communications strategies for a defense technology company with an accent on executive messaging, media relations, and product narratives. Focus on shaping measurable communication programs, managing emerging issues, and building trusted relationships with senior leaders, investors, and external partners.
Location: Onsite in El Segundo, California, United States. Relocation assistance is available.
Salary: $260,000–$310,000 base compensation, excluding bonuses, equity, and benefits.

What you will do
- Shape and execute internal and external communications strategies aligned with company objectives.
- Lead the creation of press releases, website content, product narratives, social media content, and editorials.
- Develop tools, processes, objectives, and KPIs to measure communication effectiveness.
- Build trusted relationships with executives, company leaders, media, investors, and external partners.
- Support product positioning, brand reputation, partnerships, and strategic growth initiatives.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism, English, marketing, or a related field with 10+ years of relevant experience, or a master’s degree with 8+ years of experience.
- Extensive experience managing communications initiatives aligned with company-wide goals and growth strategies.
- Expertise in developing internal and external messaging for diverse audiences.
- Strong strategic communications planning skills, including measurable objectives and KPIs.
- Experience collaborating with senior leaders and external partners while independently addressing emerging issues.
- Knowledge of communication measurement tools and best practices.

- Experience bringing new technical products to market.
- Communications experience in the Department of Defense or broader federal government.
