Senior 3D Piping Designer (Pharma)

Location: Onsite at a client site in Cork, Ireland

hirify.global's Outsourced Technical Services department provides technical professionals for client projects across pharmaceutical, biopharmaceutical, medtech, and other industries.

What you will do

• Design process equipment layouts and piping systems from concept through construction issue using 2D and 3D software.
• Create 3D models, piping layouts, isometrics, general arrangement drawings, and pipe support details.
• Coordinate piping designs with other team members and engineering disciplines.
• Lead 3D model review meetings and validate designs, isometrics, and general arrangements for quality and compliance.
• Review vendor equipment and specifications, and collaborate with pipe stress engineers.
• Conduct site surveys and integrate laser-scanned as-built information into project designs.

Requirements

• At least 10 years of piping layout, design, and pipe support experience in pharmaceutical or biopharmaceutical industries.
• At least 5 years of 3D CAD experience with AutoCAD Plant 3D and Navisworks Simulate, plus at least 5 years of 2D AutoCAD experience.
• Extensive knowledge of piping design standards, specifications, procedures, and pipe support design.
• Working knowledge of ASME B31.1 and ASME B31.3 piping codes.
• Experience with equipment design, layout, and installation, along with the ability to lead model reviews and work with pipe stress engineers.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office.

Nice to have

• Associate degree or two years of college coursework; equivalent experience is accepted.
• Site engineering and construction experience.
