TL;DR
Technical Writer - Engineering (Technical Documentation): Creating user manuals, installation guides, service manuals, and troubleshooting documentation for Product Inspection solutions with an accent on structured authoring, content reuse, and technical accuracy. Focus on maintaining Schema ST4 content, coordinating localization workflows, and documenting products that combine software, hardware, electronics, electrical, and mechanical systems.

What you will do

  • Create user manuals, installation guides, service manuals, and troubleshooting guides for Product Inspection solutions.
  • Edit and maintain documentation for accuracy, consistency, clarity, standards compliance, and product launches.
  • Work with product managers, engineers, software developers, service teams, and subject matter experts to gather and validate technical information.
  • Author structured content in Schema ST4 using component content management, topic-based authoring, metadata, information architecture, and content reuse.
  • Coordinate localization and translation workflows with internal and external providers.
  • Improve documentation processes through automation, content reuse, and digital transformation initiatives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Technical Communication, Engineering, or a related field.
  • At least 3 years of technical writing experience, preferably in a technical or technology-focused industry.
  • Experience documenting products that combine software, hardware, electronics, electrical, and mechanical systems.
  • Experience collaborating with engineering teams, product managers, and technical subject matter experts across product releases and development projects.
  • Working knowledge of component content management systems, Schema ST4 or comparable tools, XML architecture, structured authoring, and DITA standards.
  • Experience with technical illustrations, Adobe Illustrator, Callout Designer, Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat Pro, XML authoring tools, HTML, and localization processes.

Nice to have

  • Higher qualification in Technical Communication or a related discipline.
  • Experience creating graphics, diagrams, screenshots, and flowcharts.
