Technical Writer - Engineering

What you will do

• Create user manuals, installation guides, service manuals, and troubleshooting guides for technical products.
• Develop, edit, and maintain documentation for product inspection solutions across multiple releases and projects.
• Collaborate with product managers, engineers, software developers, service teams, and subject matter experts to validate technical information.
• Author structured content in Schema ST4 or similar component content management systems using topic-based authoring, metadata, and content reuse.
• Coordinate localization and translation workflows with internal and external providers.
• Maintain templates, style guides, regulatory and safety requirements, and identify opportunities for documentation automation and process improvement.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Technical Communication, Engineering, or a related field.
• At least 3 years of technical writing experience in a technical or technology-focused industry.
• Experience documenting products that combine software, hardware, electronics, electrical, and mechanical systems.
• Experience collaborating with engineering teams, product managers, and technical subject matter experts.
• Working knowledge of component content management systems, Schema ST4 or equivalent tools, XML architecture, structured authoring, and DITA standards.
• Experience with technical illustrations, Adobe Illustrator, Callout Designer, Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat Pro, HTML, XML authoring tools such as XMetaL, translation tools, and localization processes.

Nice to have

• Higher qualification in Technical Communication or a related discipline.
• Experience creating graphics, diagrams, screenshots, and flowcharts.
