TL;DR
Senior Analyst – Finance (Qualified Accountant) (Fintech/Payments): Managing financial accounting, reporting, tax compliance, and regulatory processes for a global payments infrastructure business with an accent on IFRS, financial controls, and cash flow analysis. Focus on building financial models, improving finance processes, supporting audits, and strengthening reporting operations in a fast-scaling environment.
Location: Must already be based in Malta. Hybrid work with 3 days per week in the office.

What you will do
- Manage general ledger activities, including journal entries, accruals, prepayments, and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Support revenue recognition, expense management, monthly close, annual reporting, variance analysis, and cash forecasting.
- Prepare regulatory filings and support corporate tax, VAT, internal controls, audit, and governance activities.
- Develop financial models and provide analytical insights for business decisions.
- Drive process improvements, contribute to special finance projects, and support financial systems automation.
- Mentor junior team members and collaborate with cross-functional teams, auditors, and external advisors.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance, or an equivalent professional qualification such as ACCA.
- At least 2 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in financial services or at a global accounting firm.
- Solid knowledge of IFRS, tax regulations, regulatory frameworks, and accounting software.
- Already based in Malta is essential.
- Strong English communication skills are required.
- Strong analytical, organizational, communication, and process improvement skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
Nice to have
- Experience with regulatory compliance and audits in financial services.
- Exposure to fintech or payments.
- Experience with financial systems implementation or process automation.
- Proficiency in using AI tools to improve workflows and support analysis.
