Director of Engineering (Mobile)

What you will do

• Lead engineering delivery for mobile capabilities powering OneApp, including Conversational Banking.
• Build, coach, and develop multiple high-performing engineering teams and product areas.
• Translate business priorities and technology strategy into clear plans, structures, and measurable outcomes.
• Define and deliver scalable, highly available, and highly secure solutions across ING countries.
• Balance customer value, delivery, risk, technology health, people capacity, budget, and cost efficiency.
• Collaborate with business leaders, architects, and senior stakeholders as a member of the domain management team.

Requirements

• 10+ years of leadership experience with a track record of leading, coaching, and developing empowered engineering teams.
• 10+ years of engineering experience in complex, large-scale technology environments.
• Experience building and operating customer-facing solutions with a focus on reliability, automation, security, and operational excellence.
• Strong understanding of modern architecture patterns, engineering practices, platform-based ways of working, and solution reuse across countries.
• Ability to align senior Technology and Business stakeholders up to C-level and create clarity in complex environments.
• Experience leading complex IT transformation or innovation programs across domains and multicultural markets.
