Team Lead - CI/CD & Version Control (GitLab/GitHub)

Location: On-site in Baku, Azerbaijan

A global commerce company providing funding, distribution, marketing, and monetization tools for video game developers.

What you will do

• Lead, mentor, and grow a team of CI/CD engineers and version control administrators.
• Own enterprise GitLab and GitHub environments, including availability, performance, access management, and maintenance.
• Support development teams with deployment troubleshooting, build optimization, and hands-on DevEx guidance.
• Design and maintain centralized, reusable CI/CD pipeline templates and automated workflows.
• Manage and scale GitLab Runners and GitHub Actions infrastructure to reduce queue times and build duration.
• Integrate SAST/DAST and dependency scanning into deployment pipelines while maintaining build performance and PCI-DSS compliance.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in CI/CD automation, release engineering, or developer tooling, including 2+ years leading a technical team.
• Hands-on administration of enterprise GitLab and GitHub environments, including branch protection and role-based access control.
• Expert knowledge of GitLab CI and GitHub Actions, including modular pipeline design and complex build troubleshooting.
• Strong understanding of Docker, containerized applications, and Kubernetes deployment workflows.
• Excellent English communication skills required for collaboration with distributed engineering teams.
• Strong developer-service mindset and ability to solve deployment pain points with software engineers.

Nice to have

• Experience migrating large codebases between GitLab and GitHub.
• Scripting experience with Python, Bash, or Go.
