ISP Network Support Engineer (BGP, MikroTik, Peplink, SD-WAN & Wireless)

Location: Remote from Costa Rica, Mexico, or Colombia; U.S. business hours required

Requirements

• Hands-on networking experience in an ISP, WISP, FTTH, MSP, or similar production network environment.
• Experience troubleshooting routing, switching, WAN connectivity, outages, failover systems, and live production network issues.
• Experience configuring routers, firewalls, VLANs, VPNs, NAT, and QoS, with strong knowledge of BGP and OSPF.
• Strong written and verbal English communication for working with technical teams and business customers.
• Strong documentation, root-cause analysis, and independent troubleshooting skills.
• Availability for rotating after-hours emergency support, approximately one week per month.

Nice to have

• MikroTik RouterOS, Peplink SpeedFusion, and InControl2 experience.
• Experience with Cambium, Ubiquiti, Siklu, Aviat, fixed wireless, PTP/PMP, or mmWave backhaul deployments.
• Experience with Starlink, hybrid WAN, multi-WAN bonding, high-availability networks, SIP, VoIP, and voice-quality optimization.

What you will do

• Troubleshoot customer connectivity, latency, packet loss, routing instability, VoIP quality, WAN, failover, VPN, VLAN, and wireless issues.
• Monitor and maintain edge routing infrastructure, wireless backhaul, bonded WAN systems, and core ISP services.
• Provision customer deployments and configure routers, firewalls, VLANs, NAT, QoS, VPNs, and high-availability connectivity.
• Diagnose BGP, OSPF, routing loop, multi-WAN, and failover problems across fiber, fixed wireless, 5G, Starlink, and terrestrial WAN connections.
• Support Cambium, Ubiquiti, Siklu, Aviat, PTP/PMP, mmWave, and enterprise Wi-Fi infrastructure.
• Maintain network diagrams, IP documentation, device configurations, backups, firmware updates, and root-cause records.
