AI Tutor (Yoruba)

Location: Remote worldwide, subject to legal eligibility, time-zone compatibility, and role-specific needs. US-based candidates cannot be hired in Wyoming or Illinois. Visa sponsorship is not provided.

Salary: US-based candidates earn $35–$45 per hour, equivalent to approximately $5,600–$7,200 per month at 160 hours.

What you will do

• Label, annotate, record, and provide inputs for multilingual audio clips, voice recordings, speech samples, and other auditory data.
• Translate and localize UI copy, prompts, responses, and conversational content from English into Yoruba.
• Curate high-quality audio data representing pronunciation, accents, intonation, rhythm, and other prosodic features.
• Evaluate speech accuracy, cultural vocal expressions, audio quality, and real-world noise across diverse recordings.
• Collaborate with technical staff to improve speech-processing tasks and annotation tools.

Requirements

• Native Yoruba proficiency, including familiarity with diverse accents, dialects, or regional variations.
• English proficiency at B2 level or higher, with clear pronunciation suitable for audio recording.
• Strong auditory perception and the ability to identify pronunciation, intonation, accent, and audio-quality nuances.
• High-accuracy transcription skills across accents and varying recording quality.
• Experience translating and localizing content between English and Yoruba while preserving meaning, tone, and cultural nuance.
• Strong communication, analytical, organizational, and independent decision-making skills.

Nice to have

• Background in linguistics, phonetics, phonology, sociolinguistics, speech sciences, or cognitive science.
• Experience with speech or audio datasets, annotation workflows, AI training data, or voice-model training.
• Professional voice experience such as voice acting, voice recording, podcasting, or audio production.
• Experience with software localization, conversational AI text, or advanced transcription involving disfluencies and prosodic features.
• Portfolio containing voice samples, annotated transcripts, or other audio-related work.
