TL;DR
Modeling And Simulation Software Integration Engineer (Mid-Senior) (Aerospace): Integrating, testing, and operating hardware-in-the-loop simulation environments for missile defense ground and flight test events with an accent on system configuration, network troubleshooting, and software test execution. Focus on analyzing hardware/software integration issues, executing threat simulation scenarios, and supporting mission planning, test operations, and post-flight reconstruction.

Location: On-site at Redstone Arsenal in Huntsville, Alabama, United States; occasional support may be required at other CONUS and OCONUS locations. Travel of up to 25–30% and occasional night or weekend work are expected.

What you will do

  • Integrate, test, and operate distributed hardware-in-the-loop simulation environments for ground tests, flight tests, and continuous integration activities.
  • Install, configure, check out, and test Objective Simulation Framework and related modeling and simulation systems.
  • Analyze simulation architecture performance and troubleshoot hardware, software, network traffic, and connectivity issues.
  • Execute mission-specific test scenarios, including threat modeling and simulation.
  • Document system configurations, test procedures, results, and technical reports.
  • Support mission planning, test execution, pre-mission risk reduction, training, and post-flight reconstruction with cross-functional teams.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, mathematics, or computer science.
  • 5–7 years of relevant professional experience.
  • Final and active SECRET security clearance required; ability to maintain the clearance is mandatory.
  • U.S. person status is required for ITAR/EAR compliance; some positions may require current U.S. citizenship.
  • Experience with software testing, including test plans, test procedures, and test reports.
  • System administration, containerized applications, cloud-based environments, and missile defense or comparable defense systems experience are relevant to the role.

Nice to have

  • Security+ or Linux+ certification.
  • Experience with the Objective Simulation Framework, GMD System Trainer, BMDS C2BMC Model, or TGx.
  • Missile Defense Agency program and pre-flight or ground test and evaluation experience.
  • Familiarity with managing containerized applications in cloud-based environments.
