Accountant (Insurance)

Location: Brussels, Belgium; hybrid work with up to three remote days per week

What you will do

• Perform daily accounting activities, including revenue booking, bank statement entries, payment reconciliation, and customer invoicing.
• Support insurance bordereaux preparation, data entry, and controls for risk carriers.
• Prepare monthly accounting books and ensure timely closing.
• Maintain accurate journal entries, accounts payable, accounts receivable, accruals, provisions, and general ledger accounts.
• Handle cash transactions and banking operations while supporting forecasting, cash management, and budgeting.
• Create accounting procedures and improve processes through the implementation of new accounting tools.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or an equivalent qualification.
• 2–5 years of accounting experience.
• Knowledge of BE GAAP, IFRS, Belgian accounting standards, insurance accounting standards, and relevant tax and accounting legislation.
• Experience with insurance accounting is an advantage.
• Strong analytical and detail-oriented approach, with confidence using Excel and new accounting software.
• French or Dutch and English communication skills are required.
