What you will do

• Manage, mentor, and support a team of 3–5 engineers while guiding project planning, sprint execution, and technical delivery.
• Lead the migration from legacy daily batch jobs to high-throughput real-time stream processing pipelines.
• Scale infrastructure on AWS, including Kubernetes-based deployment and container orchestration.
• Own PostgreSQL performance, index tuning, data consistency, and high-concurrency optimization.
• Partner with Product Engineering to integrate AI/ML models into real-time data and auto-moderation workflows.
• Improve observability, automate incident investigation, and align technical roadmaps with product and business objectives.

Requirements

• Technical leadership, mentoring, or direct people management experience, with the ability to manage 3–5 direct reports.
• Experience building, scaling, and monitoring production-grade backend and infrastructure applications.
• Strong backend development experience and readiness to work primarily with Python.
• Deep hands-on PostgreSQL expertise, including query optimization, index tuning, data modeling, and high-concurrency performance tuning.
• Hands-on Kubernetes experience and solid AWS and cloud infrastructure knowledge.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to connect technical execution with non-technical stakeholders.

Nice to have
