TL;DR

EHS Construction Specialist (Construction Safety): Developing and managing safety programs for large infrastructure construction projects across the EMEA region with an accent on regulatory compliance, subcontractor safety, and site-specific risk controls. Focus on investigating incidents, conducting audits and training, analyzing safety performance, and improving safe execution across active construction sites.

Location: On-site in Stockholm, Sweden; up to 80% travel across the EMEA region, including overnight stays at project sites. Open to relocating Croatian citizens to Sweden.

What you will do

• Develop, implement, and maintain safety programs, method statements, risk assessments, and site-specific safety plans for large EMEA projects.
• Act as Site Safety Coordinator when a project requires dedicated safety coverage.
• Manage subcontractor safety programs, including pre-qualification, training records, orientations, and audits.
• Conduct site inspections, safety audits, incident and near-miss investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective actions.
• Track safety performance, analyze trends, prepare monthly leadership reports, and recommend site improvements.
• Deliver training on fall protection, working at height, and other job-specific safety practices.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or a related technical field preferred.
• At least 3 years of experience in construction projects, preferably international.
• Knowledge of EMEA safety regulations, local laws, and EU directives.
• Experience with safety training, orientations, risk assessment, and safety performance management.
• Valid Category B driver’s license and willingness to work on active construction sites, including at heights and in varying weather conditions.
• English at minimum B2 level and native Swedish are required.
