What you will do
- Lead the implementation of the CO-OP 3.0 restructuring in Eastern Chad and complete the transition to the new area-office structure by September 2026.
- Manage six direct reports and oversee an area team of 82 staff across programme and support functions.
- Supervise the Adré Field Office through the Field Office Manager, including regular field visits and quality oversight.
- Represent the area office in UN clusters, OCHA, UNHCR, and engagements with government authorities.
- Lead needs assessments, emergency preparedness, and response planning related to the Sudan refugee crisis.
- Ensure safe and inclusive programming, mandatory safeguarding training, performance management, and compliance with internal procedures.
Requirements
- At least three years of senior management or leadership experience in international cooperation or humanitarian assistance.
- Experience managing area- or country-level operations, multi-sector programmes, support functions, and large multi-site teams in complex and volatile contexts.
- Fluency in French and English, both written and verbal, is required.
- University degree in Social Sciences, Economics, Administration, or a related field.
- Experience with organisational transitions, capacity building, donor requirements, proposal development, and donor reporting.
- Valid driving licence is required.
Nice to have
- Knowledge of the humanitarian context in Chad or the Sahel region.
- Experience with start-ups or restructuring in fast-growing operations.
- Knowledge of Chadian Arabic or other local languages.
- Experience developing management teams in national staff-led structures.
