Senior Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning Engineer (LLM/RAG): Building a secure AI-assisted pipeline that generates structured documentation from a large undocumented industrial automation codebase with an accent on self-hosted open-weight LLMs, hybrid retrieval, and automated factual validation. Focus on optimizing inference under fixed GPU constraints, designing NLI-based evaluation, and achieving strict coverage, precision, and SME acceptance targets.

Location: Remote from Ukraine, with the option to work from an office.

What you will do

• Build and optimize multi-pass documentation generation pipelines using self-hosted Llama 3.1 and Mixtral models on local GPU infrastructure.
• Design NLI-based validation, confidence filtering, and automated evaluation layers for AI-generated outputs.
• Implement hybrid RAG retrieval using Neo4j graph traversal and Qdrant vector search to assemble structured code context.
• Develop and benchmark domain-specific prompts, structured output templates, and multi-level code summarization workflows.
• Optimize inference throughput, p95 latency, and token budgets under fixed compute constraints.
• Collaborate with Data Engineers on pipeline schemas and support AQAs in defining automated tests for AI outputs.

Requirements

• 5+ years of software or AI engineering experience, including 2+ years designing and deploying production-grade LLM and RAG solutions.
• Hands-on experience deploying and running LLM inference with Llama 3.1, Mixtral, vLLM, or TGI.
• Strong expertise in RAG architectures, hybrid retrieval, NLI, and automated LLM evaluation.
• Deep proficiency in Python, asynchronous processing, LangChain or LlamaIndex, and AI evaluation toolkits.
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, GPU resource optimization, and private cloud deployments.
• Full professional English proficiency at C1+ level and the ability to work remotely from Ukraine are required.

Nice to have

• Experience with graph databases such as Neo4j, Azure Cosmos DB, or Ontotext Graph DB.
• Experience with IEC 61131-3 languages, ANSI C/C++, industrial automation, or source-level traceability.
