What you will do

• Develop and maintain backend services using C# and .NET across the full lifecycle including design, implementation, and deployment.
• Build and maintain USSD menus, applications, and short-code flows, considering session timeouts and device limitations.
• Integrate with Rwandan MNOs (MTN Rwanda, Airtel Rwanda) for USSD, charging, and Mobile Money services.
• Create secure, reliable, and low-latency APIs and adapters for USSD gateways and wallet providers.
• Optimize backend services for performance, availability, and reliability under high traffic.
• Collaborate with Product, Design, and BI teams to deliver business-critical features.

Requirements

• 3+ years of professional C#/.NET development experience, including .NET Core.
• Strong SQL skills, including database design, queries, and stored procedures.
• Experience with Docker, CI/CD pipelines, and automated testing.
• Practical experience deploying applications in a public cloud environment, preferably AWS.
• Proficiency with Redis or similar NoSQL/caching technologies.
• Location: Must be based in or able to work on-site in Rwanda.

Nice to have

• Experience with Mobile Money integrations, SMPP, SMS gateways, OAuth2, or OpenID Connect.
• Familiarity with monitoring tools like Prometheus, Grafana, or OpenTelemetry.
• Understanding of resiliency patterns such as circuit breaking and rate limiting.
• Experience with telco integrations in other African markets.
