TL;DR
Lead Scientist I (Purification) (Chromatography/Drug Development): Developing and scaling purification strategies for complex molecules across discovery and process development with an accent on chromatographic method development, process optimization, and technology transfer. Focus on solving difficult separation challenges, modeling purification processes, and building scalable capabilities for small molecules, oligonucleotides, ADC payloads, linkers, conjugates, and other advanced modalities.

What you will do
- Lead purification science as a subject matter expert in chromatographic separations and purification technologies.
- Design, optimize, troubleshoot, and scale purification processes from milligram to kilogram quantities.
- Develop purification strategies for small molecules, oligonucleotides, ADC payloads and linkers, PROTACs, conjugates, and emerging modalities.
- Support process scale-up and technology transfer to pilot plant and manufacturing environments.
- Establish purification workflows, standards, automation approaches, and modeling solutions.
- Collaborate with chemists, engineers, platform teams, global R&D groups, and external partners while mentoring junior scientists.
Requirements
- PhD in Analytical Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Chemical Engineering, or a related field with at least 5 years of relevant industrial or applied research experience; alternatively, a Master's degree with at least 10 years of industrial experience.
- Proven ability to solve complex separation challenges and develop practical purification strategies.
- Experience supporting multiple stages of drug development, from discovery through development.
- Hands-on expertise in flash chromatography, preparative HPLC, ion-exchange chromatography, chiral chromatography, and related purification technologies.
- Excellent English communication skills required.
Nice to have
- Experience in pharmaceutical CDMO, API development, specialty chemicals, or advanced materials.
- Experience with ADC payloads, linkers, highly potent compounds, peptides, oligonucleotides, or conjugated molecules.
- Experience with technology transfer and commercial manufacturing.
