Accounting Lead (SaaS)

What you will do

• Own the monthly, quarterly, and annual close end-to-end, including journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations.
• Manage revenue accounting for usage-based business models following ASC 606.
• Lead the evaluation, selection, and implementation of a scalable ERP system.
• Oversee accounts payable, corporate spend policies, payroll accounting, and tax compliance.
• Coordinate with external partners, including auditors, tax advisors, and bankers.
• Develop an automated close process by integrating AI into reconciliations, flux analysis, and reporting.

Requirements

• 8+ years of progressive accounting experience, ideally a mix of Big 4 and high-growth SaaS or AI companies.
• Must be based in San Francisco to work on-site at the HQ.
• Extensive knowledge of US GAAP and ASC 606, specifically for metered usage revenue.
• Proven experience personally owning at least one ERP implementation or migration.
• Hands-on experience managing close, audit, AP, AR, payroll, and tax compliance in a growing company.
• Deep curiosity and ability to apply AI to automate accounting workflows.

Nice to have

• CPA certification.
• Experience taking a startup through its first audit.
• Experience preparing a company for multi-entity or international expansion.
• Strong spreadsheet skills and familiarity with data warehouse infrastructure.
