Scenic Head of Department (Event Production)

Location: Must be local to the Westchester, NY area and authorized to work in the US. (First two weeks are remote).

What you will do

• Develop and implement the installation plan for all props and scenic elements.
• Coordinate prop load-in schedules with Rigging, LX, and other onsite teams.
• Serve as the primary onsite contact for scenic and props management and external suppliers.
• Ensure high-quality execution of the visual look and feel for the Trail, F&B, and Retail areas.
• Manage the props team to ensure a clean, safe working environment and adherence to safety standards.
• Oversee the load-out process, including derig, inventory, and remediation tracking.

Requirements

• At least 8 years of experience in team management within the creative or event industries.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States and local to the Westchester area.
• Proven background in prop fabrication, scenic design, or coordination of large-scale outdoor projects.
• Proficiency in Google Workspace (Sheets, Docs, Meet).
• Strong ability to interpret creative briefs and translate them into actionable technical plans.
• Ability to manage external vendors and technical teams under tight schedules.

Nice to have

• Valid first aid certification.
• Valid OSHA certification.
