Security Certification Engineer (Linux/KVM)

Salary: €52,000–€73,000 per year, including base salary and any applicable target bonus opportunity.

What you will do

• Build and rigorously test certified product configurations, with a focus on KVM-based virtualization architectures.
• Develop and maintain certification automation frameworks and AI-assisted tools for continuous security testing.
• Translate technical requirements from certification bodies such as NIAP, BSI, and NIST into actionable engineering parameters.
• Integrate certification testing requirements and execution workflows into automated environments and CI/CD pipelines.
• Coordinate with production engineering teams on architectural recommendations, mitigation strategies, and findings from external certification laboratories.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of computing experience in software product development, academia, or FOSS communities.
• Strong technical knowledge of Linux operating systems, KVM and other hypervisor technologies, and containerized virtualization.
• Excellent proficiency in Bash and Python, plus configuration management with Ansible.
• Experience with Jira, Bugzilla, and AI-assisted productivity workflows.
• Knowledge of security hardening, cryptographic standards, and compliance frameworks including OVAL, XCCDF, SCAP, and STIGs.
• Good spoken and written English and the ability to maintain detailed technical compliance documentation.

Nice to have

• Programming and debugging experience in C.
• Familiarity with physical security concepts such as data centers, CCTV, and access control systems.
