TL;DR
Embedded Software Engineer (IoT): Developing embedded software and data capture algorithms for connected smart pods and sensor devices with an accent on Zephyr RTOS, embedded Linux, and IoT connectivity. Focus on designing reliable device software, making independent technical decisions, and integrating networking, cellular, Wi-Fi, CAN bus, and messaging protocols across a growing product ecosystem.
Location: Hybrid role based in Tampere, Finland, with regular office work for hardware testing; candidates must be based in or ready to relocate to the Pirkanmaa region.

What you will do
- Develop embedded software and data capture algorithms for smart pods and sensor devices.
- Build connected device functionality using networking, cellular modems, Wi-Fi, CAN bus, and MQTT/AMQP.
- Work across the embedded device lifecycle, including development, validation, and technical maintenance.
- Make independent technical decisions, prioritize bug fixes, and propose new technical solutions.
- Collaborate with embedded engineers, product managers, designers, and business stakeholders.
- Contribute to new projects from their early stages and shape hardware and software architecture.
Requirements
- Strong hands-on experience with Zephyr RTOS.
- Practical experience or familiarity with embedded Linux development.
- Solid C and Python programming skills.
- Understanding of networking features, cellular modems, Wi-Fi, CAN bus, and MQTT/AMQP protocols.
- Self-directed approach and confidence making independent technical decisions.
- Fluent written and spoken English; the role requires regular office presence in the Tampere area.
Nice to have
- Experience with Yocto SDK build processes.
- Experience with OTA firmware updates, OpenVPN, CANopen, or PKI device integration.
- Finnish language skills.
