Treasury Operations Lead

Location: Hybrid work in Porto or Lisbon, Portugal, supporting treasury operations across Europe.

What you will do

• Lead daily treasury operations across multiple European entities and oversee cash positioning, liquidity management, and short-term forecasting.
• Execute, authorize, and monitor treasury payments and settlements while resolving exceptions with banking partners and internal stakeholders.
• Maintain treasury reconciliations, reporting, month-end close activities, controls, segregation of duties, fraud prevention, and audit readiness.
• Standardize processes and drive automation across treasury operations to reduce manual work and improve control effectiveness.
• Enhance bank connectivity through SWIFT, APIs, and Host-to-Host solutions in partnership with Finance Transformation and Technology teams.
• Lead, coach, and develop the Treasury Operations team while building a scalable, high-performing function.

Requirements

• Strong experience in treasury operations, cash management, or payment operations in a multi-country environment.
• Experience in payments, fintech, banking, or an e-money/PSP business.
• Hands-on knowledge of treasury management systems, ERP platforms, preferably SAP, bank portals, SWIFT, APIs, or Host-to-Host connectivity.
• Strong understanding of treasury controls, payment security, reconciliations, cash management, and process automation.
• Experience leading or mentoring treasury operations teams, with strong analytical and communication skills.
• Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related discipline; fluent English required. Treasury qualifications such as ACT or CertT are advantageous.
