TL;DR
Triton Compiler Engineer (GPU) (C++/Python): Developing Triton compiler front-end and back-end components for Intel GPUs, with an accent on domain-specific programming languages, code generation, and kernel optimization. Focus on designing compiler optimization passes, supporting transformer-model workloads, and collaborating with hardware teams and compiler communities.

Location: Remote work is currently available from the greater metropolitan area of Toronto, Canada. Once the Toronto office is operational, the role will follow a hybrid model requiring on-site presence at least four days per week. Remote work must be performed from Canada; working remotely from another country is not permitted.

Salary: CAD 133,922–189,066 annually, depending on location and experience.

What you will do

  • Design, implement, test, debug, release, and maintain tools for domain-specific programming languages.
  • Develop Triton compiler front-end and back-end components for hirify.global GPUs.
  • Create optimization passes for supported GPU kernels.
  • Collaborate with hardware design teams, compiler development companies, and programming communities.
  • Participate in language and standards groups.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field with 3+ years of experience; alternatively, a master’s degree with 2+ years or a PhD with no required experience.
  • Professional programming experience with C, C++, and Python.
  • Experience with compiler stages, code generation, and optimization techniques.
  • Experience with GitHub development environments.
  • Familiarity with PyTorch attention techniques for transformer models.
  • Must live and work from Canada.

Nice to have

  • Experience with LLVM, MLIR, and Triton compiler architecture.
