Senior Backend Engineer (Java): Designing and implementing robust server-side solutions for a global digital checkout platform with an accent on scalability, high performance, and distributed systems. Focus on building high-throughput payment infrastructure and optimizing technical architecture to support thousands of merchants worldwide.
Location: Stockholm, Sweden (Onsite). The company prioritizes in-person collaboration at the head office.

What you will do
- Implement scalable, high-performance backend services powering global payment infrastructure.
- Lead technical discussions and mentor junior team members.
- Contribute to architectural decisions and the technical roadmap.
- Drive engineering excellence through code reviews and technical documentation.
- Collaborate with Product and Design teams to implement robust technical solutions.
Requirements
- 7+ years of professional experience in Backend development with deep expertise in Java.
- Advanced knowledge of Spring Framework and Spring Boot.
- Extensive experience with AWS cloud services and microservices architecture.
- Strong track record of designing and implementing large-scale distributed systems.
- Expert-level understanding of database design and optimization.
- Must be based in or able to work onsite in Stockholm, Sweden.
