TL;DR
Police Project Coordinator (VAPJP) (International Development and Policing): Coordinating police program activities, annual workplans, reporting, budgets, and operational support in Vanuatu with an accent on program delivery, financial monitoring, and stakeholder coordination. Focus on maintaining AFP adviser schedules, tracking performance, supporting risk mitigation, and ensuring compliance with Australian security vetting and Vanuatu visa requirements.

Location: Port Vila, Vanuatu, with travel to other locations in Vanuatu as required. Applicants must hold Australian citizenship, be eligible for Australian Federal Police security vetting, and be eligible for a Development Support Visa for Vanuatu.

Duration: Full-time, fixed-term.

What you will do

  • Lead the development, review, and monitoring of the EOPO1 annual workplan covering policing and cross-cutting support.
  • Coordinate activity implementation under the direction of the Senior Responsible Officer and maintain planning tools and schedules for AFP advisers.
  • Prepare progress, annual, completion, and stakeholder briefing reports for program monitoring.
  • Manage program reporting systems and ensure timely submission of police activity performance reports.
  • Monitor police activity budgets, expenditure, and forecasting with the Operations Manager and Finance team.
  • Advise on safety and security issues affecting AFP staff and support risk mitigation or corrective action.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Management, or a related field.
  • Experience in operations management, corporate administration, program coordination, or a similar role.
  • Experience developing workplans and managing financial, administrative, and logistical functions within complex programs.
  • Experience in an international development context or with government agencies.
  • Strong organisational, multitasking, communication, interpersonal, initiative, and problem-solving skills.
  • Eligibility for Australian Federal Police security vetting, a Development Support Visa for Vanuatu, police checks, and relevant due diligence checks is required.
