Office Manager (Healthcare): Managing the daily clinical and operational delivery of a diabetic eye screening programme in Cork with an accent on staff coordination, patient care pathways, capacity planning, and service quality. Focus on maintaining failsafe processes, managing screening and grading teams, meeting national standards and KPIs, and driving workforce training and service improvement.

Location: Onsite in the Cork office, Ireland. Candidates must demonstrate a pre-existing right to work and travel within the EU.

What you will do

  • Manage the day-to-day clinical and operational activities of diabetic eye screening programmes.
  • Coordinate patient records, screening capacity, venue bookings, rotas, grading results, and programme timelines.
  • Oversee screening and grading staff, including attendance, performance management, recruitment, induction, appraisals, and professional development.
  • Maintain failsafe processes, patient care pathways, health and safety procedures, risk assessments, incident management, and business continuity plans.
  • Support the Programme Manager in achieving service objectives, KPIs, workforce competency, and training goals.
  • Work with multidisciplinary teams and stakeholder organisations to improve service quality and delivery.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in diabetic retinopathy screening, grading, administration, healthcare, or a similar patient-focused service.
  • Management experience, including performance management of teams and individuals.
  • Minimum of a pass Leaving Certificate or equivalent.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work calmly and sensitively with diabetic patients and stakeholders.
  • IT literacy, experience with bespoke screening database software, and knowledge of information governance.
  • Pre-existing right to work and travel within the EU is required; documentary evidence will be requested.

Nice to have

  • Proficiency in Irish or another language.
  • Experience initiating and managing organisational change.
  • Experience with service improvement and healthcare programme administration.
