Legal Counsel (Tech)

Location: Paris, France; hybrid setup with 2–3 days per week at the office

What you will do

• Advise the marketplace, bus, and train business teams across EU and non-EU jurisdictions, with a specific focus on hirify.global’s online travel agency role.
• Provide creative legal solutions while ensuring compliance with applicable regulations.
• Manage pre-litigation and litigation matters.
• Draft and negotiate commercial contracts, partnership agreements, and other agreements.
• Collaborate with internal partners, including the government relations team, to respond to regulator requests.
• Support legal matters arising from the day-to-day operation and international expansion of the business.

Requirements

• 6–8 years of experience as a qualified lawyer in an EU country, gained in-house or in private practice, including experience in startups and new technology companies.
• Knowledge and experience with commercial issues including e-commerce, platform regulation, and consumer protection.
• Knowledge and experience dealing with regulatory topics and comfort working across multiple jurisdictions.
• Strong contract drafting and negotiation skills.
• Experience creating and managing processes and moving large-scale projects forward.
• Business-oriented, creative, solution-driven, autonomous, and able to take initiative.
• Ability to work quickly, meet aggressive deadlines, remain flexible, and learn new areas of law.
• Excellent communication skills, humility, and willingness to share and learn from others.
• Full working proficiency in English and French.
• Alignment with hirify.global’s principles.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of a foreign law, such as Spanish, Mexican, or Ukrainian law.
• Proficiency in an additional language, such as Spanish or Ukrainian.
• Experience in the transport industry.

Hiring process

• 45-minute video call with a Talent Acquisition Manager.
• 60-minute video call with the Head of Legal, followed by a fully remote technical exercise and a 60-minute discussion of the exercise.
• 30-minute video call with the General Counsel for values fit and process closing; the process usually takes 20–25 days, with offers typically made within 48 hours.
