Sr Principal Application Engineer-MSC Nastran (MSC Nastran): Delivering pre-sales and post-sales technical consulting for structural simulation solutions, including demonstrations, POCs, implementation, training, and troubleshooting, with an accent on finite element analysis and industrial CAE workflows. Focus on preparing simulation models, generating meshes, configuring solvers, interpreting results, and supporting complex structural, thermal, vibration, fatigue, impact, and composite-material analyses.

What you will do
- Consult with customers on structural simulation requirements and develop technical solutions using MSC Nastran.
- Deliver software demonstrations, proof-of-concept studies, benchmark evaluations, and technical presentations.
- Support simulations covering structural strength, stiffness, modal analysis, vibration, fatigue, thermal stress, NVH, impact, and composite materials.
- Prepare models, generate meshes, define materials and loads, configure solvers, interpret results, and troubleshoot technical issues.
- Conduct customer training, workshops, and best-practice sessions.
- Collaborate with sales, R&D, and CAE product teams on customer projects and multi-software simulation solutions.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, engineering mechanics, vehicle engineering, materials science, new energy engineering, or a related discipline.
- 15+ years of experience in CAE simulation, industrial software technical support, or engineering analysis.
- Strong knowledge of finite element analysis principles and simulation methodologies.
- Hands-on experience with MSC Nastran and structural simulation workflows.
- Experience with linear static, modal, buckling, nonlinear, optimization, topology optimization, or multiphysics simulations.
- Strong communication, presentation, problem-solving, and customer-facing consulting skills; occasional travel is required.
Nice to have
- Experience with Patran or ANSA.
- Background in automotive, battery, aerospace, composites, semiconductor packaging, or related simulation projects.
- Knowledge of Digimat, Marc, Dytran, Fatigue, PLM integration, simulation process automation, or Python/PCL scripting.
- Previous experience delivering POCs or supporting pre-sales activities.
