Senior AI/ML Engineer (Defense)

Location: Onsite in Bedford, IN / Crane, IN. Active DoD Secret Clearance required

What you will do

• Partner with project managers to define objectives for AI/ML systems in support of maneuver, surveillance, and engagement missions.
• Develop and prototype AI/ML applications, including computer vision, sensor fusion, and decision-support tools.
• Conduct rigorous testing and evaluation of AI/ML performance against operational datasets.
• Optimize systems to ensure robustness, scalability, and cyber resilience.
• Troubleshoot complex system challenges and provide technical guidance for deployed solutions.
• Maintain awareness of emerging AI/ML technologies and software engineering practices.

Requirements

• Active DoD Secret Clearance (Top Secret preferred).
• 10+ years of experience in AI/ML engineering, software development, or applied data science.
• Expertise in LLMs, RAG, MLOps pipelines, and frameworks such as PyTorch or TensorFlow.
• Experience using AWS GovCloud (COSMOS) or similar secure cloud environments.
• DoD 8570 Advanced certification (e.g., SecurityX, GCSA, CCSP or equivalent).
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Engineering (Master's preferred).
