Sr. Director/Principal Research Scientist (Quantum Computing)

Sr. Director/Principal Research Scientist (Quantum Computing): Establishing and leading a new Quantum Computing Center of Excellence in Singapore to advance quantum algorithms and computational methods for payments, security, and financial systems with an accent on scientific leadership and ecosystem building. Focus on designing novel quantum models, driving high-impact research programs, and establishing strategic partnerships with global academic and industry leaders.

Location: Hybrid (Singapore). Must be based in Singapore and work from the office at least 3 days per week.

What you will do

• Shape the research direction and scientific identity of the new Quantum Computing Center of Excellence in Singapore.
• Lead the formulation and execution of a forward-looking research agenda focused on financial services, payments, and security.
• Design, analyze, and prototype novel quantum algorithms and proof-of-concept systems.
• Mentor and develop research talent, fostering a strong scientific culture within hirify.global Research globally.
• Establish and deepen collaborations with leading academic institutions, research centers, and government agencies.
• Represent hirify.global in the global quantum research community through publications, invited talks, and conferences.

Requirements

• PhD in Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field.
• Significant research experience: 6+ years post-PhD or 12+ years of relevant work experience.
• Deep expertise in quantum algorithms, optimization, machine learning, cryptography, or error correction.
• Proven record of technical leadership and established reputation in the international quantum research community.
• Must be based in Singapore (Hybrid: minimum 3 days in office).
• Ability to operate effectively in an ambiguous, fast-evolving environment.

Nice to have

• Experience applying quantum computing to finance, payments, or enterprise-scale computational problems.
• Proven track record of building external partnerships with academia or government.
